CADMA at Studio2 in Nambour
CADMA is launching a new suite of group classes this year at Studio2 in Nambour on the Sunshine Coast.
These classes are led by CADMA's experienced tutors, providing tuition in drama and musical theatre for school age children, as well as an early childhood program that provides children below school age with an early and fun introduction to the world of music and drama. Some school-age classes are held during school hours, designed especially to accommodate homeschoolers.
Our early childhood music programme follows the curriculum designed by John Feierabend, based on extensive research into children's early development and music skills. It can lead on to individual instrumental or vocal lessons as students and their skills grow.
Our drama and musical theatre programme is tailored especially by each tutor, with an emphasis on developing personal creativity and performance skills. Trinity College exams (which provide credit for school students graduating with a QCE) and group performances are the focus for the school age groups.
Studio2 is located on Rigby Street, just a short distance from Nambour State College - making timing and pickup convenient for parents of local school students.
All 30-minute classes detailed below are priced at $10, and all 60-minute classes are priced at $15.

Early Childhood Music Classes
Learning music helps to develop motor skills, social skills, coordination, self-discipline, mathematics, and reading concepts. In the first stages of this curriculum designed by John Feierabend, the recognition of sound patterns and beats are the initial steps toward an increasingly fine awareness and understanding of music, delivered through fun games and songs.
- Fridays 11:00-11:30am – Music for ages 18 months to 3 years
- Fridays 9:30-10:00am – Music for ages 3 to 5
Early Childhood Drama Classes
The creative urge is explored in these classes, with improvisation and play a major focus. Voice training is also a part of the classes, with fun drama games extending children's knowledge as well as skills.
- Fridays 10:15-10:45am – Drama for ages 3 to 5
- Saturdays 1:30-2:00pm – Drama for ages 4 to 7
Early Childhood Music Theatre Classes
This group follows a script, with songs and dialogue to learn and different characters for children to learn to portray. A performance for parents is the goal for the end of the term.

- Saturdays 1:00-1:30pm – Music theatre for ages 4 to 7

Various performance skills will be explored throughout these classes - mime, improvisation, character development, working with scripts, diction and vocal projection, etc. Classes will be entered in Trinity College Group Drama exams, depending on the strengths of the participants - which can count towards credit for a QCE.
Classes held on Fridays during school hours are designed to be convenient for homeschooled students to attend.
